A MURDER inquiry has been launched following the death of 21-year-old Daniel Nicholas Riviere from Fulmar Lane, Wellingborough.
The man died following an incident in Union Street, Kettering on Monday (February 16, 2009).
A post mortem examination is currently underway at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Items were recovered from the scene and are currently being forensically examined.
Detective Chief Inspector Jan Meagher said: "We are appealing for anyone who saw anything at this location to come forward and tell us what they know.
"A number of items have been recovered from the scene and are being forensically examined.
"A car was recovered from Kettering General Hospital on Monday and it is currently being examined.
"Four people remain in custody in connection with this incident and our inquiries are continuing."
Three men who are believed to have been involved in the incident, which occurred in Union Street shortly before 1pm, are currently in police custody as officers seek to establish the events that led to this man's death.
The inquiry is at an early stage and police are appealing for anyone who was in Union Street at around 1pm yesterday afternoon to contact them.
They would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have seen a Vauxhall Astra arrive shortly before 1pm and leave the street just after 1pm.
The vehicle contained a number of people.
As part of the investigation, there are currently a number of police officers at Kettering General Hospital making significant enquiries regarding the incident.
As a consequence of the incident, there will be an increased police presence in Kettering and Wellingborough and any members of the public who have any concerns relating to the incident should contact their local Safer Community Team on 08453 700700.
Witnesses, or anyone who may have any information regarding this incident, are asked to contact police on 08453 700700.
