FEELING a chill in the air?
As temperatures drop in the county, a charity is asking people to spare a thought for the elderly struggling to stay warm this winter.
Age UK Northamptonshire are holding a 'Bobble Day' tomorrow (Friday), fundraising for the campaign to keep older people safe and well during cold weather.
Everyone is invited to wear woolly clothes to work or school and donate £2, or buy a colourful bobble from their local Wilkinson store or charity shops.
Liam Condron, chief executive of Age UK Northamptonshire, said: “We are encouraging people to pin a bobble on their knitwear, or wear a woollen item of clothing on Friday to help raise vital funds for Bobble Day.
"It would be great if readers could join in too and help make this a Bobble Day to remember.”
February is often the coldest month of the year, and according to Age UK more than 200 older people die each year due to the weather conditions.
