THEdriver of a bus was attacked when he refused to allow a man on board.
He told the would-be passenger that his ticket was the wrong one and that he would have to pay for another or leave the bus.
A police spokesman said: “When challenged by the driver, the man hit the driver hard across the head.”
On its way to Northampton from Bicester on February 7, the single-decker bus had stopped to pick up passengers.
The vehicle pulled into the Market Place stop in Brackley at about 11am, when the assault happened.
The offender then ran away up the hill on the High Street. He is described as white and 6ft tall, with short, dark hair.
Police say he had a spotty face and was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top, possibly jogging bottoms and trainers.
