THE new Assistant Chief Constable for Northamptonshire Police has been announced as Andy Frost by the Northamptonshire Police Authority.

Mr Frost started his policing career with Northamptonshire in 1987 and spent four years as a patrol officer in Daventry before moving to Weston Favell, Northampton. In 1992 he was promoted to sergeant and spent two years serving in Corby, including six months as a detective sergeant.
In 2004 Mr Frost transferred to Bedfordshire Police, working as the divisional commander role of Bedford and North Bedfordshire. Recently he has been working as Chief Superintendent for Luton.
Deirdre Newham, Chair of the Police Authority said: "Appointing Chief Officers is one of the Authority's most important tasks and the panel had to make a difficult choice between four excellent candidates, but I am confident in Andy we have a real asset for the people of Northamptonshire.
"His commitment to building the trust and confidence of communities, coupled to his significant experience of operational policing, impressed the panel as did his clear enthusiasm for improving the Force's performance in a very difficult financial climate. The Police Authority very much looks forward to working with him in providing the very best service to the people in the county."
Mr Frost said: “I started my policing career as a constable in Daventry and, 23 years on, am delighted to be returning to Northamptonshire as a member of the chief officer team. I know the area very well, having worked in both urban and rural areas throughout the county for 17 years, and am really looking forward to working with colleagues throughout the Force to continue the excellent crime reductions and building the trust and confidence of communities.”
