Written byNICHOLAS BIEBER

Wicksteed Park will be taking part in BBC Children in Need’s live television broadcast tomorrow evening.

There will be Children In Need stalls, facepainting and a Doctor Who experience to enjoy. Wicksteed’s Wicky and Pudsey Bear will also be on hand to have their pictures taken with visitors.

There will be a performance from a choir of 200 local school children, who will join choirs from London, Bath, Belfast, Manchester, Falmouth, Glasgow, Birmingham, Hexham and Merthyr Tydfil, to simultaneously perform Sing by Gary Barlow at 8.30pm on the night, in a performance that will be broadcast across the UK.

The Northamptonshire children are from Masquerade Choir, Kettering Performing Arts, Isham Primary School, Hall Meadow Primary School, Havelock Junior School, St. Peter’s School, Bishop Stopford School and Montsaye Academy.

The main park event starts at 6pm and continues to 10pm and is free to attend but there is no public access to the choral performance due to limited capacity.

Wicksteed Park also offers attractions such as the dodgems, pirate ship and carousel.
