A state-of-the-art facility at Silverstone circuit has been shortlisted for a ‘Venue of the Year’ award.
Silverstone Circuits Limited is celebrating after its Silverstone Wing – an event, exhibition and conference centre, is in the running for the honour from the Association of Event Organisers (AEO).
Having attracted more than 100 new clients since its opening in May last year, The Wing has been recognised as a rising star in the industry.
Set in the heart of the world famous Grand Prix Circuit, overlooking the start/finish line, the unique Silverstone Wing has been shortlisted alongside venues such as the O2, The NEC and ExCeL.
Richard Phillips, managing director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, said, “We are delighted the Silverstone Wing has been shortlisted for the Venue of the Year.
"The facility is a crowning achievement for Silverstone and it is fantastic to think that we are in the same league as other, more established venues, after our first year.”
Sales manager for The Wing, Daniel Whittemore, added: “The Wing has attracted clients from across the industry spectrum, including creative and public events, exhibitions and conferences.
"It is clear that the industry is as excited about The Wing’s unique offering as we are and we are very proud to have been shortlisted for this Award by the Association of Event Organisers.”
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner held in July in London.
