THE Save Irchester Countryside protest has reached ‘down under’.
Spokesperson for the campaign, Tony Skipper, has discovered via Facebook, his sister in
Australia has been following the story.
Tony’s sister Maureen Mackey who lives in Northern Australia has been logging onto the
Wellingborough & Rushden Herald &Post website and watching the videos of her brother.
On her Facebook page, she posted: “I am watching with interest from Australia please keep up the good campaign and don’t let Irchester turn into another overdeveloped under resourced Village.
“Good to see the article in your local newspaper and enjoyed the video.
“Well done and good luck on the 20th and I wish I could be there and add my support.”
Tony said:“We keep in touch via the internet on Facebook.
“She said on her webpage she has been watching her brother on the H&P videos and tears came to her eyes.“When I looked at what she had written it was very emotional and very touching.
“By watching the videos on the H&P website, it creates a personal touch when they can see them.
“I had a phone call at 11pm last week from a local resident who watched the latest video and was very impressed to see the campaign going forward.
“Thanks to the Herald & Post for two very good videos that have raised our campaign profile as it is giving us a lot more exposure and more importantly support.”
