A WISH list of improvements to open spaces and outdoors sports facilities has been drawn up.
The list has been compiled so when 106 contributions are put forward by developers then the money can be used on the priority projects.
Section 106 money is a contribution given by a developers to get different facilities built which can be used by residents of any new houses.
This ‘list’ will be put before Wellingborough councillors at next Tuesday’s development committee.
In the report it states: “The list will help to create a transparent process which will enable members, officers, developer and the community to know where and how planning contributions are to be spent.
“It will enable the council to pool contributions and where possible to supplement these with finance from other sources.”
It is also proposed to prepare a similar list for the rural area and identify projects related to the provision of other facilities and services identified in the Planning Contributions Guide for Local Infrastructure.
At each stage councillors would be given an opportunity to contribute to identifying projects for the final approval of the development committee.
Chairman of the committee, Cllr Graham Lawman said: “We wanted to have a shopping list of projects.
“These would be a list of potential projects which would not be set in stone but could happen.
“By having a list we know what facilities are likely to be needed and this will show developers these need to be done.”
The list will be reviewed annually by the committee.
