Homeless Bob to provide online aid

BY LAWRENCE JOHN

A NEW homeless website is about to be launched.

Called Homeless Bob, the site aims to explain to people about the Homeless situation in East Northamptonshire.

It was born from the efforts of the Homeless Bob team from the Sanctuary in Rushden.

The driving force behind trying to set up the website is Paul Spill (pictured).

In May, Paul was one of the three members of the Homeless Bob team who spent eight days walking and living rough in order to raise money for the homeless.

Paul has been at The Sanctuary, formerly the Rushden Night Shelter, for three months.

Up until then he had been homeless and living rough since he left college at 17.

Now he wants to launch this new electronic initiative.

Paul said: “We have set up an email, Facebook and Twitter site.

“The aim is we have tried to set up as much of a social network as we can to get in touch with as many people as we can.

“The website will be updated every day or certainly on a regular basis.

“It will also contain details of what other agencies are doing and not just us.

“It will have a directory of what is on offer in the area.

“We are going to have a donation page and a contact number if they want to volunteer.

“I am keyed into it at the moment and I hope within a year this will be covering East Northamptonshire.”
