A DISPERSAL order will be in place in the Redwell area of Wellingborough from August 20.
The order is to be brought in after people told police they were concerned about anti-social behaviour.
It will give police officers and police community support officers increased powers to move people on who are believed to be involved in anti-social behaviour.
PCSO Matthew Powell from the Wellingborough West safer community team, said: “We want to send out a clear message that anti-social behaviour in the Redwell area will not be tolerated.
“Reports have included concerns about large groups of young people congregating in the play areas and drinking alcohol as well as committing acts of vandalism and has resulted in residents becoming increasingly concerned about the area in which they live.
“Anyone who refuses to move on faces being arrested.
“Dispersal orders are just one tool available in tackling antisocial behaviour and those youngsters who are found to be persistently causing a nuisance will be referred to the Anti-Social Behaviour Unit.”
The dispersal order will mean officers and PCSOs can move on those people they believe to be involved in anti-social behaviour between 9pm and 6am.
Officers will only move people they believe to be involved in anti-social behaviour.
Young people who are not involved in such activity will not be affected by the order.
- The area included in the dispersal order is; the Redwell Park area from Hardwick Road, Roche Way and Harrowden Road towards Niort Way, to Hoylake including the park area, Gleneagles Drive to the junction of Kilborn Road and all of the streets within this boundary.
