A GET-TOGETHER for the whole village is being planned by the Save Irchester Countryside Campaign.
The protesters are aiming to hold an event at the end of August or the start of September to spread their message.
They will be inviting Wellingborough Councillors, members of Irchester Parish Council, Wellingborough & Rushden MP Peter Bone and residents from the village.
The aim is to have an informal gathering so protesters and villagers can talk to councillors about why they want to stop any development on the Greenfield sites to the south of Irchester.
Spokesman for the campaign, Tony Skipper said since the petition was handed into Wellingborough Council on Tuesday there is a great deal of excitement about what has been achieved. He said: “The village is excited now and realise Wellingborough Council is listening.
“Everyone was disappointed more of us could not go to the full council last Tuesday but we were limited to 25 people.”
The protesters are hoping they can book Irchester Country Park for their gathering to allow as many people as possible to attend.
