RE-USE, recycle and repaint are the themes behind a new community project in Rushden.
The Community Re-paint Scheme is being set up by East Northants Community Services.
It is all part of a nationwide project to give people who are on low incomes paint which they can use around the house or on community projects.
Rev Mark Lees from the East Northants Faith Group said:
“We have just had delivery of a temporary building.
“This has been paid for by empowering money from county councillor, Cllr Michael
Tye and will be used as a storage shed and as the paint shop.
“It is all part of a community repaint scheme which is part of a national scheme which brings people together to reuse paint instead of it going to be burned.
“This paint is at the end of the line or no more is being made.
“By joining this repaint scheme, we can pass this paint onto people who are on low income.
“We will then relabel and reissue the paint which cannot be re-sold.”
