Spate of bush fires as homes targeted

A SERIES of bush fires have broken out in Higham Ferrers and Raunds.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of incidents where garden bushes have been set alight.

The first happened overnight sometime between 10pm on Saturday, June 5 and 8.30am on Sunday, June 6 when offenders set fire to a bush in the front garden of a property in Wykeham Road, Higham Ferrers.

The second occurred sometime between 9.30pm on Saturday, July 17 and 6.30am on Sunday, July 18 when a bush in the front garden of a property in Stanwick Road, Higham Ferrers was set ablaze.

The third incident took place in Warwick Close, Raunds, between 6.15pm and 6.45pm on Tuesday, July 20 when a bush was set on fire, damaging a fence panel.

The fourth incident also took place at a separate property in Stanwick Road, Higham Ferrers, when a bush was set alight sometime between 11pm and 11.30pm on Thursday, July 22.

Witnesses to these incidents, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 03000 111 222.
