A 15-year-old boy was pulled from the River Nene near Woodford following reports of a missing person in the water.
Police, fire crews and the ambulance service worked together on Tuesday evening.
The body was recovered after a protracted search involving all agencies.
The boy has been identified but police are not revealing his details at the moment and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
